★ Straight talk
Urgent problem?
Something down right now? Here's the honest answer.
Preston's Farm Electric is a scheduled-service business. I work weekday evenings and weekends, booked in advance, with shutdowns planned around milking and chores. That's the whole model — and it's why my regulars don't get many surprises.
So straight talk: if your parlor goes down at 2pm on a Tuesday, I'm at my day job and I can't teleport. I won't pretend otherwise — any electrician who promises you 24/7 from a one-truck shop is selling you something.
Here's what I can do:
- Evenings and weekends, I move. Call or text (607) 381-0244. If I'm free, I'm rolling.
- Maintenance plan members go first. Every open slot — including urgent ones — gets offered to plan members before anyone else.
- If it's a safety issue — sparking, burning smell, a dead panel feeding ventilation on a hot day — call 911 first, then call me.
And the real fix for urgent problems: they're what the maintenance plans are for. The infrared scan finds the breaker that's going to fail in July — in October.
